FO #14

Twisty edge hat, in KnitPicks Merino Style, on #6 needles. When I started it, I wasn't sure who it would be for. Then I got a birth announcement in the mail. Woo!

twisty edge practice

When I first read the directions, this confounded me. But with needles in hand, it made perfect sense! I love it and can't wait to use it on something! (from KotE)

FO #13

Ruby's sweater. I kind of winged it, not really working from a pattern except for measurements of the completed sections. This was knitted with KnitPicks Shine, a beautiful, yummy, soft but very unforgiving yarn. Lots of frogging and re-knitting. I knit the bottom half on one circ, divided for the left front, right front and back and knitted them separately, seamed the shoulders, then picked up stitches for the sleeves and knit them in the round on two circs.

I'm still trying to decide which I dislike more: small diameter circular knitting, or seaming.

FO #12

Jodi's scarf. I got a skein of Misti chunky alpaca then couldn't figure out for the life of me what to do with this yummy, yummy yarn. Finally I found a scarf pattern and decided that it would be a good thing to make for my sister, who hates itchy things with the fire of ten thousand suns. There's one thing this yarn is not, and that's itchy. Oh yeah, and it's not cheap, either. ;)

flower practice

I got Nicky Epstein's Knitting on the Edge for Mother's Day. It's full of nifty things to try, like this cool flower, which would have been fun had it not contained 14 bobbles.

Duck booties, from Zoe Mellor's bootie book. For Jaynie, our little duck-happy friend. :)

FO #10

My first pattern-writing attempt. I'm not going to post a pic of this yet, because I'm a perfectionist, and it needs some work. Let's just say I finished it, but the sleeves are very wonky so I don't think it could actually be worn. So I have some dis-assembling, frogging and re-knitting to do. Sigh.

I've been knitting since 01/05, spinning since 07/06. Mmmmm, yarn.
